NBA Champions of the Past – 1967 Philadelphia 76ers

Spalding is winding back the clock to celebrate the NBA Championships of the past, reminiscing on the iconic Philadelphia 76ers 1967 Championship.

For almost 30 years, the Sixers’ 1966-67 season stood alone in history, as one of the greatest teams ever.

The 76ers started the NBA playoff season with a record of 46-4, which was the best 50 game start in the NBA history, up until the 2015-16 season. Finishing off the season at 68-13, the Sixers had the best record in league history at the time, defeating the Boston Celtics in the playoffs – a team who had won 8 consecutive titles.

On a roll heading into the finals, coming up against the San Francisco Warriors in the Finals, the Sixers had their work cut out for them, with the Warriors taking the series to 6 games. However, the Sixers’ proved too strong, taking home their second championship and the first in Philadelphia, with a 4-2 win.

Featuring all-stars Wilt Chamberland, Hal Greer, Chet Walker, Billy Cunningham, Wali Jones, and Luke Jackson, in the modern era, that’s what we call a super team, with all playing a significant effort in securing the championship.

The 1967 76ers team was awarded for their winning percentage record season, later chosen as the greatest individual team for the NBA 35th Anniversary team in 1980.

The limited release ball features an iconic gold design, showcasing the 1967 NBA Finals, Spalding, and Sixers’ logos from the era, as well as the key team stats from the year. Get your piece of NBA history and add it to your collection, with the 1967 Philadelphia 76ers NBA World Championship Ball.
