Spalding are turning back the clock to celebrate the NBA Champions of the past, with an exclusive retro NBA Championship range, celebrating some of the most famous Championship wins in basketball history. Think iconic moments, heroic plays, buzzer beaters, legends on the court, this collection is certain to have you reminiscing.
In a stand-out gold execution, the ball showcases the NBA Championship and Spalding logos from the era of the win, alongside the season and play-off records from that winning year. There are five balls in total in the range, with a new ball to be released each month. The first ball launches on 1st February, with the 1996 Bulls Championship win, the first to be celebrated.
Jordan, Longley, Pippen, Rodman, Kukoc – just some of the names who were influential in this historical win. The Last Dance documentary may have well stirred those famous memories or emotions from the Bulls’ dominance of the 90s.
The Bulls won 72 games during the 1995-96, setting an NBA record that stood for 10 years. Playoffs saw them win with a 15-3 record. Then in the ’96 Finals Series, they took on the SuperSonics, claiming the Championship with a 4-2 winning record. The decider Game 6 saw a standout performance from the iconic Dennis Rodman. Michael Jordan was named NBA Finals MVP, his fourth time winning the award.
