WNBL Finals are here!
The WNBL finals tip-off on the 8th March and the fixtures do not disappoint. Whilst the Townsville Fire are red hot heading into the final’s series, they come up against a Perth Lynx outfit that are in strong form, winning 11 of their final 14 games. This first semi-finals match-up sees the teams with the two longest winning streaks entering the race for a chance to be the new 2023 Champions.
The other semi-final series sees an all-Melbourne affair, with the Melbourne Boomers and recently named League MVP Cayla George, taking on the Southside Flyers. George’s MVP win caps off an amazing regular season, with averages of 18.3 points a game, to go along with 11.3 rebounds and 4.6 assists a game. The Flyers will enter the series full of confidence, having swept the season series with the Boomers 3-0, and were the best defensive team in the league throughout the regular season.
Can the Melbourne Boomers go back-to-back, or will a new team be crowned the WNBL Champions? We can’t wait to see the action unfold on the court.
